ESG has worked co-operatively with KFW Infrastructure for the developer Level 33 on this inner-city Wollongong residential development project since 2016, ViViD Wollongong.
After sitting vacant for 15 years, the land at 14-18 Auburn Street, Wollongong (see image), went through several proposals until a multi-level residential and commercial development was approved in 2015. According to local news, downsized from a 15-storey complex originally approved in December 2014 by a Joint Regional Planning Panel, the current project is for a 9-storey building with ground-floor commercial tenants and eight levels of apartments, plus three levels of basement parking and storage.
ViViD is planned for completion in 2017 and features stylish 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments with open-plan living areas, secure parking and balconies. Upper floors enjoy unobstructed views of the ocean, cityscape and escarpment to take advantage of the north-east aspect. The corner location with dual street access adds value to the commercial level, surrounded by an elevated promenade with glass balustrades.
