Pre Design / Construction
- Detailed topographic survey and surface feature survey plans
- Survey all traced and GPR located underground services
- Survey all vacumn truck non destructive pot holed services
- Check, validate and merge all GFIS data
- All deliverables to Defence GFIS and SDMP standards
- Check and validate all supplied WAE data to GFIS and SDMP standards
- Merge all newly constructed data into Site Master Plan
The HMAS ALBATROSS Redevelopment Project aims to upgrade and refurbish existing facilities and infrastructure for the command, training, maintenance, operational support, and administration functions to meet projected base operational and support capabilities for at least the next 20-30 years. Current infrastructure deficiencies are impacting on capability.
The Redevelopment Project will seek to deliver a number of outstanding Works from the previous Stages as well as additional Works. Specifically, priority will be given to undertake upgrade/refurbishment of the engineering services across the base which have not been comprehensively addressed in many years and have not been a specific focus during more than sixty years since the base was established.
The Naval Air Station (NAS) Nowra HMAS ALBATROSS is the centre of Navy’s aviation capability and Navy’s principal aviation facility. NAS Nowra provides Operational, Administrative, Training and Logistic support to the Australian Navy Aviation Group, the Parachute Training School and other Defence users. The HMAS Albatross Redevelopment Project is essential to the remediation of facilities, infrastructure and engineering service for sustainment of Navy’s aviation capability and support to the fleet and broader Defence requirements.
